Walkin' on the Wild Side

Eastern Rat Snakes - Climbing Constrictors

Marvin and Gabrielle Bouknight

Hey everyone, it's time for another episode of Walkin' on the Wild Side!  This time, tragedy at with our screech owl family prompted us an opportunity to talk about the sometimes seemingly "cruel" side of Mother Nature.  Join Marvin and Gabrielle on the back porch to talk about the often misidentified, misunderstood, and sometimes just plain despised eastern rat snakes.  They have gone through numerous name changes, but they are the same ol' amazing climbing, constricting, and quite large members of the Colubridae family of snakes.  Learn about how to identify them,  as well as their habits, hangouts, and hunting prowess.  Nothing gets your heart pumping in either a good way or bad way like these powerful yet polarizing reptiles!
